Dental Cleaning for pets needs to be done under anesthesia by professionals. In order to properly perform scaling and root planing that has a benefit for your pet's health, we need to work under their delicate gum tissues with sharp instruments (like you hygienist does)!

Please don't subject your pet to 'anesthesia-free' services, done by untrained, unlicensed, unregulated individuals. 

Dental extraction is a very versatile treatment for any painful tooth condition, inflammatory condition, or diseases of attachment loss like periodontal disease. The greatest thing about extraction is that there is minimal to no follow up required after the tooth has been completely removed.

And YES! They can eat without teeth! Many pets are much more comfortable and see an improvement in appetite after surgery.
